Mold assessment vs visual mold inspection

A mold assessment or mold testing is the process of identifying if any mold exists and the severity of the infestation. It starts with a mold inspector taking samples from different areas of the property. Next, they will test the air quality, and lastly, they will test the mold in the labs. Once they are done, they will send a detailed mold report stating where exactly the mold infestation is concentrated at. This process usually happens when there is a suspicion that mold is present in the air. A visual mold inspection occurs when there is visible mold in any parts of the property. For example, you see a black spot appearing on the wall of your bathroom. That’s when you call a restoration company that does mold remediation to come and provide you with a visual inspection. The visual inspection consists of using thermal imaging camera and humidity relative tools. If there is moisture detected on the wall where the black spot is, then it is mold.
